In my retirement, I have decided to begin experimenting with drink mixing on a very small scale. I like experimenting with seasoning on foods, so why not experiment with drink mixtures until I find something I really like. My wife ran across an old fashioned that used the traditional bourbon with maple syrup and black walnut bitters; which we had not tried. Well, it is excellent! Maple syrup makes a great replacement for simple syrup.
So, I thought; well I wonder what it would be like using tequila instead. Below is the result. It is fantastic!
