Window-Eyes 7.x sets for GoldWave 5.x The screen resolution I used was 600x800 Sets last updated on July 30, 2008 I attempted to use the auto off set feature, but you still may have to adjust some of the windows if your screen resolution is something other than 600x800. I've included the keyboard commands from GoldWave appendix B at the end of this file. I found it extremely helpful. Also, I would suggest setting the main window and the sound window sizes to maximized. You can do this in GoldWave under the Options menu and selecting Window. The set files included are: gw5.000 gw5.001 gw5.002 gw5.003 gw5.004 gw5.005 gw5.006 gw5.chr gw5.gra gw5.key gw-about.000 goldwave.we this file, gw5we7.txt There are three extra files in a separate zip file on my webpage that you should grab. The zip file is called GoldWaveExtras.zip The extra files are: GoldWaveKeyboard.txt, GoldWave Appendix B Keyboard Commands.txt and GoldWave Keyboard For Reading.txt. Thanks to Jim Grimsby JR. for the GoldWave Keyboard text file that you can import into GoldWave to give hot keys to virtually all of the common and not so common functions. The file is called: GoldWaveKeyboard.txt. To add this into GoldWave, Launch GoldWave, hit alt+o for the Options menu, then k for keyboard. Shift+tab twice to the "load" button. Press space, then navigate to where you have unzip this package and select the GoldWaveKeyboard.txt file. Now, all the functions with hot keys will work. I edited the file to read easier and renamed it: GoldWave Keyboard For Reading.txt. I also have saved the Keyboard Command list from the GoldWave Manual, Appendix B, as a separate file called: GoldWave Appendix B Keyboard Commands.txt. I figured it was a little easier to access than going into the GoldWave Manual. You also should grab the GoldWave script written by Darren paskell, as it adds some dependable hot keys for getting accurate information for start and end markers plus the length of a selection between those markers. Go to this link for details and downloading the script package: https://www.gwmicro.com/Script_Central/Scripts/Script_Details/?scriptid=1125 Here are the Window-Eyes hot keys and windows that I have set in GW5.000. Alt+s reads Window 3, which gives you the sampling rate, stereo or mono and the wave sign. alt+l reads Window 5, which gives you the total length of the sound file, which is rounded off to three decimal places. alt+4 gives you the original file length out to 5 decimal places. This only changes after you have saved the file. You may have to reopen the file or this number to refresh in some cases.. If you installed the GoldWave Script there are three more hot keys: alt+m reads the start marker. Alt+n reads the finish marker Alt+b reads the time between the start and finish markers. gw5.001 loads when processing files. Window 2 = alt+p reads the percentage complete. window 3 = alt+t reads the time remaining. These hot keys are when processing a single file. If you do a batch process, or are saving multiple tracks with the CD Reader, the location of the time remaining and percentage moves, so the hot keys become: window 4 = alt+b reads the percentage window 5 = alt+i reads the time remaining. Hyperactive Window#A is set to trigger on 95%. When a processing job gets to 95 percent, Window-eyes will say, "almost complete", then it will beep. It is my attempt to give some warning that a process is almost finished. Sometimes, the processing is so fast that either GoldWave skips the 95 percent or it goes by so quickly Window-Eyes doesn't see it. I added a few windows with hyperactive windows to give more information when you are ripping tracks from a CD. Window #7: alt+s reads the total processed. Window #8: alt+e reads the errors. Window #9: alt+o reads the Overall Progress. If GoldWave cannot read the track, the total processed will be less than the total number of tracks and you will have an error. Hyperactive windows will read this information when the processing is complete. You can then find the track/tracks that didn't work properly by tabbing into the list of tracks and arrowing through them. GW5.002 should load when you go into the device controls properties. f11 will open the GoldWave device controls. Hit control+tab twice to get to the volume control tab. This gives you all the check boxes for selecting your recording source from within Goldwave. You can also edit the volumes in the edit box next to each item. The number is a percentage, so 100 is full volume, 50 is half volume, etc. gw5.003 loads in the control view. The Control view shows all the play, stop, etc. options. It also shows the time elapsed in a file as you are recording, or playing. Alt+f6 should open and close the control view. You can also do this by hitting alt+t then t to turn it on and off. To read the pause position, hit alt+p. You can also get into that box by tabbing. When you tab into the status window where you hear the amount played, you will also hear the left and right channel levels. While in this box, if you hit d, you can toggle the display between percentages and decibels. gw5.004 will load in the effects window and the set marker position window. The list of presets should read as combo boxes and the buttons should be correctly labeled. If you find that the set marker edit boxes won't read, hit alt+back slash to redraw the screen. You may also have to make sure it is maximized. There are some extra windows defined here for reading the maximum peak levels of your sound file. If you want to check the peak level of your file, do the following: Hit alt+c to open the effects menu. Hit u to open the volume submenu. Hit m to open the maximize dialog. To read the information that GoldWave is displaying there are eight windows, four for the left track and four for the right track. The following is a list of the windows that are chained together. 1 chained to 2 3 chained to 4 5 chained to 6 7 chained to 8. 1 through 4 are the left track and 5 through 8 are the right track. alt+1 reads windows 1 and 2, which will say something like "left: 0.2695 (-11DB)" which means the peak level is 0.2695 and the decibel level is minus 11. alt+3 reads windows 3 and 4 which will say something like: "at time: 00:00:23.57582" which is the time in the file where the peak level is reached. Alt+5 reads Windows 5 and 6, which is the right track peak information. Alt+7 reads windows 7 and 8, which is the right track time information. gw5.005 loads in the window that allows you to select your batch processing features. gw5.006 loads in the File Information Window. gw-about.000 loads when you select About from the Help menu. Hyperactive Window#A reads the about information automatically. If you have any questions about this set file, feel free to contact me. Richard Turner richard@turner42.com
