Window-Eyes sets for Nero I have created some basic sets for Nero CD burning software. The first thing to remember is to maximize whatever Nero window you are working in for the sets to work properly. Nero.000 loads when you are in the main Nero screen. Nero.001 loads when you are writing a CD. In Nero.001: alt+s reads the writing speed. alt+t reads the track name that is being written, cop x of x and the total time so far. (Note: Nero often does not display the entire track name, but you will usually get enough of it to know which track it is.) alt+p reads the percentage of the simulation or project written. Using Nero with Window-Eyes The first thing I do is go into the Nero Preferences under the File Menu under the General Tab-Control and uncheck "Start with new compilation." Then I go into the File Browser Tab-Control and uncheck "Start with File Browser. I find unchecking these two items keeps the screen less cluttered. I also recommend making sure that under the help menu, the "use Nero Wizard" is checked. If the Nero Wizard is checked, then hitting control+n starts the Wizard and you can then make some choices as to what kind of Cd you wish to burn. Data CD The first thing you will hear when you have opened your new compilation is the word "new". This is the volume label. If you route the mouse to the word new, and double click on it, an edit box will open. You can then label the CD with the usual label restrictions. (You can also do this in the compilation Info under the file menu.) To add files to a compilation, the shortcut keys are: alt+e to open the edit menu and then l for add files. At that point, you can either type in the path, or shift+tab to get into the listview and find the folder where your file or files are located. Or, if you want a very simple and direct method, use Windows Explorer and find the files you want to add to your compilation and select them and hit control+c to copy them, then alt+tab to your new compilation (or exit Windows Explorer, and simply hit control+v to paste them into your compilation. If you are creating an audio CD, you may find that Nero adds the songs in reverse order from the way Easy Cd Creator does it. So, if you add song 1 and then song 2, you will find song 2 is first on the CD. So, simply add them in the reverse order of how you want the CD to play and it works fine. If you have put all your files in one folder, go to the bottom of the folder, hit control+shift+home to select them all in reverse order, then copy and paste them into your new compilation. If you are creating a data CD, and want your data separated into folders on the final CD, open the edit menu with alt+e and then hit the letter r. You can then type in the name for the folder. The listviews for the folders get a little confusing. Basically, if you use the arrow key and here the folder name and then hit enter, you are in that folders listview, so if you add files there, those files will end up in that folder on the CD. Tab or shift+tab to get out of that folders listview and you can create a new folder, or add files to the root folder of the CD. This takes a little experimentation. Here is some information from Nero about accessibility that Aaron Smith from GW Micro supplied. Accessibility of Nero Accessibility of software is the capability to be easily used by everyone, especially visually impaired users. The main rule is that all operations must be available by keyboard. In Nero the following keys are currently supported: - Tab-order: in a dialog, each component, known as control, is accessed in a specific order and the user can switch between these controls with the tab (tabulation) key. - Standard accelerators (letters may change depending on the language of Nero used): Classic: * Ctrl + A: select all * Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert: copy selection * Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert: paste selection * Ctrl + X or Shift + Delete: cut selection * Delete: delete selection * Ctrl + Z or Alt + Backspace: Undo * Ctrl + F: find (buggy!!) * Ctrl + N: new document (compilation) * Ctrl + O: open document * Ctrl + P: print document * Ctrl + S: save document * Alt: Application menu * Alt + Enter: properties of selection * F1: help * Shift + F1: context help * F2: rename * F5: refresh * F6 or Tab: next pane * Shift + F6 or Shift + Tab: previous pane * Enter: in the file browser, open the selection. * Shift + F10 or Content Menu key of Microsoft keyboards: display context menu Nero specific: * Ctrl + E: eject media in current recorder / open the recorder tray * Ctrl + I: open media information dialog * Ctrl + R: open choose recorder dialog * Ctrl + 1: copy selection to compilation (in the File Browser only, copy the selection to the last activated CD compilation) Main Menu (classic): * Alt + F: File * Alt + E: Edit * Alt + V: View * Alt + W: Window * Alt + H: Help Main Menu (Nero-specific): * Alt + R: Recorder * Alt + X: Extras Also, on the file browser, if reading of a directory fails (like on an empty drive), the tree selected-item will not switch to previously selected item, so it is possible to move over such directories with keys only.
