Air Fryer Recipes and tips
Here is a tip from an air fryer cookbook that was on BARD. After washing and lightly towel-drying the basket, put it in the air fryer and set it at 350° for about 4 minutes to thoroughly dry the basket.
To convert just about any recipe for the air fryer, just drop the temperature by about 25° and reduce the cooking time 20 to 30%. Pause the air fryer to check doneness until you are comfortable with the results.
Many recipes, including the one I include for a whole chicken, were written for single burner air fryers. Two burner air fryers are becoming more common, so with those you do not have to flip over the food, since the two burners cook on both sides at once. I'm told the cooking time is going to remain about the same.
Below are a variety of simple air fryer foods both frozen and fresh.
Frozen foods that can be cooked in the air fryer without thawing
Trader Joe's Spanakopita: Preheat at 400° for 5 minutes. Spray with a little oil. Cook at 350° for 10 minutes.
Trader Joe's Pot Stickers: Preheat at 370 ° for 4 minutes. Spray with a little oil Cook at 370 ° for 5 minutes, shake the basket, cook for another 4 to 6 minutes.
Trader Joe's Mini Pizza: Cook at 360 ° for 11-12 minutes.
Trader Joe's Mandarin Chicken: Cook at 330 ° for 13-15 minutes. Heat the sauce packet in hot water, serve over rice or noodles, etc.
Sweet Potato Fries: Preheat at 400 ° for 5 minutes. Spray with a little oil. Cook at 400 ° for 15 minutes. Flip halfway through.
Tater Tots: Preheat 5 min at 400°. Spray the tots with a little oil. Cook at 400° for 15 minutes shaking every 5 minutes. longer if you want them more crispy.
Trader Joe's Breaded Cod Fillets, 380° for 12 min. Flip and cook 3 to 4 min.
Fresh foods
Medium Boiled eggs, For medium boiled eggs, from 1 to 6 eggs: Place in basket and cook at 270" for 12-13 minutes Place in cold water bath for 1 to two minutes. Peal and eat.
Chicken Thighs: Preheat the Air Fryer for 5 minutes at 390°. Place thighs in basket skin sides down and cook for 12 minutes at 390°, turn thighs over and cook another 8 to 10 minutes depending on size.
Salmon fillets: 10 minutes at 390°
